Since you’re here, you already know my interest in LEGO animals. Still, if someone told me I’d be reviewing a DUPLO set here a few months ago, I wouldn’t have believed it myself. After writing 15 animal articles and seeing countless DUPLO figures, my love towards them increased significantly. When I had the chance, I got the LEGO 10975 Wild Animals of the World set. Along with it I got two more, Wild Animals of Africa (10971) and Elsa & Bruni in the Enchanted Forest (10418).

Our final animal article? Wow… Today, we’ll start with fantastic LEGO creatures and finish up with dragon figures. These are distributed between land, air and water animals. They are found both in licensed and unlicensed themes. Some are really beautiful, but brick-built. I won’t mention them in general, but talk about their unique parts.

There aren’t many LEGO dinosaur figures, which means it will be a short article (… 10 pages later…). Seriously though, there are currently 99 dinosaurs listed on Bricklink. Add the DUPLO ones, and before you know it, we’ll be done! (Note to self: 100 dinosaurs mean there ARE many dinosaur figures. Get a hold of yourself, woman!)

Welcome to the article I had the hardest time categorizing! Bricklink has it easy, say “Animals, water” and you’re done. At first, I decided to do that. Something felt off, though. My interest in animals isn’t limited to LEGO ones, so calling some of them water animals didn’t feel right. I mean it’s okay for sharks, dolphins, octopi, and so on. They don’t live for long out of the water, so they can be counted as water animals. But what about alligators? Seals? Thankfully, there aren’t many of these made into LEGO figures, so I was able to overlook it.

Welcome to the updated LEGO farm animals article! There aren’t many of these, because most of them have unique shapes, meaning a new mould should be made for each and every one, meaning pricier sets. Still, the LEGO Group made enough animals to build a small farm.

Welcome to our third up-to-date animal article! Horses are one of the oldest LEGO animals, in fact they’re the oldest land animals. LEGO DUPLO horse figures were released in 1979, System ones were released in 1984. They’ve appeared in different sizes, different colors and of course in different themes, and can still be found in sets today.

There are also a significant number of dog species that have been LEGOfied.
